A Little Fall Skin Check-In

Let’s Reset Our Routine Together

There’s something about fall that makes me want to slow down and check in with myself.

Maybe it’s the cooler morning, the change in air, or simply knowing we’re entering a new season.

Whatever it is, the change in season feels like a natural time to get back in routine, reset, and pay attention to what I may have been neglecting or what may need to change. I might ask myself things like—how am I feeling, what routines are working for me, and what might need a little more attention?

And honestly, I think our skin deserves the same kind of check in.

Just like we trade summer blouses for layered pieces, switch out our makeup, and enjoy different seasonal fruits and vegetables, our skincare routine may need a little adjusting too.

A Change in Climate Means a Change in Skin

As the temperature begins to cool down, humidity levels also drop. That means our skin usually begins to crave more moisture. The culprit? Drier air, both outdoors and indoors. Maybe your cleanser suddenly feels a little too drying. Your moisturizer isn't keeping your skin comfortable throughout the day. Or your skin just doesn't have the same softness and glow it had a few months ago.

Especially after a summer of heat and sun exposure, fall is a great time to focus on hydration and supporting your skin.

What Summer Left Behind

Before we fully settle into fall, it’s worth checking in on what summer may have left behind. More time in the sun, heat, sweat, and outdoor activities can leave skin feeling dehydrated while making concerns like uneven tone, pigmentation, congestion, dullness, sensitivity, or a buildup of dead skin cells that’s more noticeable than before.

Fall can be a good time to address those concerns and shift your focus toward restoring hydration, supporting your skin barrier, and getting your skin back into balance.

A Few Things I'm Reaching For This Season

One of the easiest ways to transition your skincare routine is to look at the textures you're using.

During the warmer months, you may prefer lightweight gels, water-based products, or lighter moisturizers. As the weather cools down, your skin may appreciate something a little creamier and more nourishing.

These are the products I’m reaching for right now, but that doesn’t mean they’re what every skin type needs. Seasonal changes are a good reminder that skincare should be personalized, not copied.

  • MYSTIQ iLuminating Cleanser — a creamy cleanse that helps maintain hydration and doesn’t strip the skin, great for ALL skin types

  • BIO Hydrating Mineral Mist — an easy way to add a layer of essential minerals and hydration

  • PRO Brite-Plus Serum — to help address the uneven tone and pigmentation concerns that can become more noticeable after summer

  • BIO Caviar Crème — a richer moisturizer to give my skin the nourishment it needs to stay comfortable

  • Ultra Zinc Tinted Sunscreen — daily sun protection still matters as we transition into fall to maintain a healthy complexion and protecting the progress we’ve made

A Little Reminder For You

If your skin has started behaving differently, this is a good time to have your routine evaluated rather than continuing to guess at what it needs. A professional treatment can give your skin some extra support during the transition, while giving you the opportunity to talk through any concerns you've noticed since summer.

And outside of your skincare routine? Give yourself permission to slow down, too.

Make a little time to decompress. Light a candle. Put your phone down. Take a warm shower. Apply a hydrating sheet mask. Read a few pages of a book.

Check in with yourself and give your skin the same care and attention you've been giving everything else.

If you're not sure what your skin needs right now, you don't have to figure it out alone.

Let’s connect and work through it together. A virtual check-in gives us space to talk through what you’re noticing and make thoughtful adjustments to your routine. Or, if your skin is asking for more hands-on care, scheduling a facial gives us the opportunity to work with your skin in person and give it the care it’s been asking for.

You don't have to guess your way through the season.

With care,
